(Re)cover

Drawing on personal memories, this work examine how affective energies are both produced by, and productive of, the self. Affect is experienced outside of language as an embodied intensity, but through the use of vibrant colours, entangled bodies, and discordant imagery, (Re)cover seeks to construct a visual language to (re)cover and (re)present its energy. These paintings straddle the line between desire and shame, beauty and the grotesque, to explore the transformational potential of affect.
