Queer Joy & Self-Love

Utilizing painting, collage and film as an archival method, I am preserving moments of joy that are experienced through gestures of self-love. Being South-Asian and LGBTQ+ minority, mending trauma stemming from oppression and diaspora catalyses my artistic practice. My work aims to encourage viewers to develop a relationship with healing and self-love.

2 Boys 1 Lotus

Most religions deem gay sex as impure and unholy. In this painting that narrative is rewritten by a same sex couple sharing intimacy in the cosmos on a lotus flower that symbolizes purity, where the Hindu gods are said to reside.
