Award Jurying

The Emptiness Makes Me Full is a body of work responding to my feelings of alienation through solitary introspection, exploring themes of wonder, personal mythology, and imagination. My paintings invite childlike curiosity. Exploring transcendence, first by looking inward, then by reaching toward something beyond ordinary experience. Animals, in particular, often appear in this world as messengers. They hint at mysteries we don’t fully understand, and maybe aren’t meant to.
