“In a series of intimate egg shaped paintings, soft sculpture elements made from canvas, fabric, object, and papier-mache enclose a partially obscured reposing figure. These works draw inspiration from protective icons and amulets, as well as symbols of self-preservation (egg, crystal geode, flower) with the intention of evoking a nostalgic feeling of maternal safety.”
