“My work considers the role of the publication as a creative form while questioning the politics surrounding its history, its present significance and content dissemination. My undergraduate thesis focused on aspects of colonial histories and the role of language in hierarchical/authoritative contexts as a way of understanding an individual’s self-created agency. This project was derived from reflecting on the experience of oral traditions as well as drawing on the histories of the “othered”. My intention was to facilitate considerations of dialogues concerning settler-colonial practices by bringing oral narratives into academic spaces. We can discuss my work further over coffee!”
