“The Vestige Echo is a recycling of time, emotions, lived experience and a unique opportunity too deeply reconnect in extraordinary times. The creation reveals an understanding, healing and celebration of the journey each person takes with the duration uncertain and unknown.”

Velta Vikmanis is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Toronto. Her work focuses on various aspects of time; the passing of time, the impact of current events and the exploration of time spent in repetitious action to create objects. Exploring and researching the language of various materials and how it will impact the story that is being presented is equally significant. Many installations have included original prose, text or audio to further enhance the objects. During these extraordinary times and circumstances her work is even more drawn to the uncertain, limited and restrictive nature of time inspiring objects, moments and opportunities to bring people together for reflection, engagement and healing.
