Mixed Media Artist
“Expressive, energetic and exploratory art for feeling that folds digital and analogue practices together, steeped in a teapot with societal influence meant to be shared, cared for and unpacked.”
Tara Clews is a mixed media artist graduating with a BFA in the Drawing and Painting program at OCAD University with a specialization in Digital Painting and Expanded Animation and a minor in Art and Social Change. Using both analogue and digital mediums, separately and simultaneously, Clews explores personal, political and societal narratives relating to mental health and physical wellness. She shows change over time with her distinctive detailed line works and especially enjoys the ability to show metaphors for feelings with time based media and human voices. Clews has had the opportunity to showcase her work in group shows at OCAD University, The MOD club and the Steamwhistle Brewery in addition to a solo show at 3030 and a publication in 360 Magazine. She enjoys creating custom art for clients seeking drawing, designs, painting, photography, video and animation.
