“[ex·trem·o·phile] a living thing that can thrive in an extreme environment. In "Extremophile", the humans who live in extreme environments are replaced by living organisms who thrive in those conditions. This is to remind us of the fragility of human beings and how even though we may be at the top of the food chain, we are easily replaceable and susceptible to extreme changes in our environments. ”

Hope is an illustrator based in Toronto. She draws inspiration from nature, obscure words and the everyday. She currently enjoys exploring a whimsical style through the use of watercolour and ink. Many of her works work sequentially to tell a story, but can often stand alone and are open to interpretation. Through her illustrations, Hope enjoys creating new and imaginative spaces for the viewer to explore the world.
