My name is Alejandro Rizzo Nervo and I am a visual artist, with a BFA in Photography(expected June 2019) at OCAD University. My practice is based on photography, collage, photomontage, and non traditional printing processes which allow me to connect the viewerto my artistic vision. My work deals with social, politics and LGBTQ+ issues, and its goal is to start conversations on issues depicted in the pieces. My work has been part of group shows inCanada and Italy.I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. When I was 21, my family decided it wastime to flee out of a coming political disaster. Now, currently working as an immigrant inCanada, I feel the need to expose these problems in Venezuela through my art, creating alink between fabricated and documented photography. I am currently working on a seriesof photographs that talk about contemporary Venezuelan social and political disputes throughdigital collages, sound, and installation of large size prints.
