Quiet Overflow explores the layered nature of human presence and emotion. Through divided structures and a constructed spatial setting, the work reflects how internal states remain hidden, accumulate over time, and eventually begin to surface.
“In this work, the tree functions as a shifting form that reflects the layered nature of human presence. Rather than being defined by a single surface or identity, the divided structure suggests the coexistence of multiple internal and external states. The three separated spaces can be understood as different psychological conditions—inner, visible, and emotional—yet they are not fixed. The tree occupies all three simultaneously, suggesting that identity is not singular but constantly moving between overlapping states.Within this constructed environment, the blue form at the base emerges as a release of what has been held beneath the surface. Suppressed emotions do not disappear; instead, they accumulate and eventually begin to overflow. This work is rooted in what remains hidden yet persists over time. It reflects my ongoing interest in traces, emotional residue, and the way internal experiences gradually become visible through form.”
