Set 2 Maquette

This is the maquette for the final piece, Set 2. Constructed from mat board and painted, the maquette was constructed to be 12x smaller than the final piece.

“In order to visualize the finality of Set 2, a 3-dimensional prototype was needed to model the installation after. Maquette 2 was born from this need. However, after working with this piece it became apparent that not only was it similar to Set 2 in physical appearance but it also conveyed the same principle of questioning ones space and their relationship to it. In this way the maquette took on its own life and became a piece that was necessary to be displayed next to Set 2 in order to further prompt the viewer to question their relationship with their environment. ”
