“"Five Deadly Venoms" #2 (View from Ponoka )nonextant installation, but here I remember this as: *My Grandparents Kitchen. * an allusion to the Chinese painter Zong Bing's bedroom (and the mountains he painted and travelled to), as synchronous with my experiences in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, projected onto the walls is an imagined view from my Grandfathers's stay in the Ponoka Asylum, composed of old family photographs. * Placed on a plinth is a side-by-side selection of page translations: a photocopy of my grandfather's writing and a hand painted following 'copy' using Chinese Inkstick and brush, along with a Canadian English dictionary highlighting the vocabulary that comprises my Grandfather's workbook.”
