A nativity scene made in response to themes of deindividualization and temporality. A part of my series "Evil and full of Love".
“Birdface is yellowed – made of wax and clammy to the touch. She is in the process of giving birth to a hybrid between fetus and egg. Connected by string, the fetus is installed at the base of the tree, falling to the ground, and splitting open on impact. An immediate life, she's bursting with yolk and receding back into her environment. This nativity scene is a starting and ending point, from her mother to the ground the child is split open by the earth, her death is a release of energy - a release of love. ”
