Divine Dance of Love

This artwork is inspired by South Indian temple mural art, specifically frescoes depicting Hindu mythology. Ancient temples and palaces in India showcase the rich tradition of mural painting, with most of these artworks dating back to the 9th–12th centuries. Nearly all of them enjoyed royal patronage and are still preserved in many temples across India. In this painting, I depict Lord Krishna and his beloved Radha. Their love story is considered one of the most famous in Hindu mythology, symbolizing divine love. The painting technique and color palette I’ve used here differ significantly from the traditional temple mural style. The scene I chose to portray is called Rasa Leela—the Divine Dance of Love.
