Amen to Sticky Notes

Illustration
2020
In 1968, while trying to create an extremely strong adhesive an engineer instead accidentally made a very weak adhesive. The project was originally deemed a failure, until Arthur Fry discovered that the adherent allowed paper to stick and and un-stick to objects. He made the discovery during a church choir practise when his notes kept falling out of a hymn book. He used the weak adhesive to stick the notes into the book, and then later peeled them off creating the sticky note.
