The Tides of Her Being
Painting
This piece combines collage and painting to create a layered composition with bold colours and distorted imagery. Fragmented faces, repeated eyes, and organic forms form an unsettling, yet engaging space. It explores observation, discomfort, and visual tension, drawing the viewer in through detail while sustaining unease.
“This piece was made at a time when I was going through a lot emotionally. I felt like people were always watching me and trying to understand what I was going through. The eyes represent that feeling, and the faces show different reactions and opinions. I used dark and bold elements to make it feel intense and a bit uncomfortable. I wanted it to gross people out, but also pull them in with detail at the time, I felt like I was drowning in people’s attention and opinions, while trying to be there for myself. This piece shows that feeling of being seen by others, but also trying to stay grounded. ”
