Based on “Coming Out in the Shadow of Hate” by Robin Parker, Globe and Mail.
“Bullying can be suffocating. Especially when it involves oppressing the victim’s identity. The act of othering is shown as a micro-aggression rather than a direct confrontation through the displacement of the middle woman - her makeup is askew and on a darker, cracked mirror, whereas the other women exclude her in their blissful perfection.”
