Using elements of painting, collage, and embroidery to create texture and depth, I depicted myself being overgrown and (ironically) obscured by forget-me-not flowers.
“I simultaneously experience a deep yearning for anonymity and acknowledgement. I have been working through this discomfort by producing a series of introspective self-portraits interrupted by greenery both obfuscating and accentuating my features. These self-portraits express the wild dichotomy of wishing for invisibility, yet fearing being forgotten.”
