Violet Haze

This painting belongs to the anniversary portraits series which I make a painting every year to document my relationship with my partner. Violet Haze is for the year 2022 (3rd anniversary). This is a photo based acrylic painting depicts a close-up scene of me and my ex lying in bed. This was the anniversary after a year of long-distance relationship, I moved to Toronto for University while my partner was staying in Montreal. This was also our last anniversary before the breakup.
