Uber Skills

There are thousands of foreign qualified immigrants who drive Uber for their livelihood. Majority of these migrant drivers have monetizable unregulated skills, but they just can’t find job or work in their relevant occupations due to lack of local work experience, connections and professional networking.Uber Skills is a digital economy platform which would provide skills monetization & professional networking opportunities for migrant Uber drivers' who have unregulated skills. Drivers will be able to showcase their skills through Uber platform to make their presence known as skilled professionals in the community.During the ride, the riders will be able to know more about drivers' professional background. Uber Skills would provide riders the opportunities to help drivers to grow their professional network & connections in the community & on online professional platforms like LinkedIn. Through Uber Skills members of the community can also help drivers to gain local work experience by hiring them and getting benefit from their unregulated skills. Uber Skills would help thousands of migrant drivers to unlock their full potential, which would strengthen socio-economic fabric of the society. This social development initiative would alleviate the effects of "Taxi/Uber driver syndrome" by removing barriers that hinder skilled migrant drivers from career & professional growth.
