Unlearning

I came to a Decolonization experience in the Bahamas believing I had something to offer in the community experience. Instead, I realized that I need to unlearn my ways of being and doing.I did not know where to begin to connect with my colleagues from many nations and experiences. After a storm, a palm branch fell to the ground and I watched our team walk over it for two days. I realized that I could begin here, drawing what rested under the authority of their feet. I could begin again, I could learn anew, I could become someone tomorrow, that I was not today.
