Students studying abroad or away from home may feel a sense of loss with their new surroundings at school as they can experience negative symptoms related to homesickness, making it difficult for individuals to have an enjoyable learning experience. Exploring the relationship between homesickness and loneliness offers insight into how students can feel alone, unfamiliar, isolated, and stressed when having thoughts of missing home.Joy is an app that can help students learn how to cope with homesickness allowing users to interact with the app companion.
