Interior Design
This thesis investigates how innovative elementary school design can enhance children’s educational experiences by integrating natural environments, promoting independence, and creating fluid transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces. This thesis explores how these spatial strategies can support psychological well-being, increase engagement, and improve learning outcomes. By blending interior and exterior settings while maintaining necessary boundaries, the study aims to reframe traditional perceptions of school as rigid or uninspiring. Additionally, it addresses future challenges—such as climate change—by advocating for adaptable, sustainable learning environments that evolve with the needs of students and the planet. The ultimate goal is to establish a design framework that fosters joyful, impactful, and resilient foundations for lifelong learning.
