"Human Ech0 Shards" is an interactive, performative sculpture that investigates the idea of involuntary human interaction in time, space and place. The work calls into question the imprints we make in our daily lives. As each day passes towards our inevitable and certain death, we seek meaning and perhaps the chance to leave something even more significant than ourselves behind. By entering the space, one is right away confronted with ash, which laches itself as trace material to one's hands, clothing, shoes etc. These traces of ash, which permeate throughout the sculpture's initial space, then extend itself to everyone who has come into contact with the work. This, in turn, creates a ripple effect, a symbolic representation of the smallest interactions functioning as the most significant ones—the echos of our actions, our trace.
