The Lost Weave serie presents fragments of my early childhood memories.

“As a sickly kid growing up, I suffered from numerous high fevers, which caused a partial memory loss for my childhood. Being told by my parents, I was mainly raised by my grandparents at an early age, but I don’t remember any of that; my grandparents are just two vague figures in my mind. To present my expression to these lost memories, I weave in photographs that I found in that period of my life. It is like a journey going back to the past, trying so hard to seek pieces that I remember by cutting the photo apart and weaving back together. Printing the image with etching and plate lithography also reminds me that, although the memories are lost, that doesn’t mean that it’s gone; whatever happened, it’s always there. Just like how paper ran through the press and left an indentation on the surface, the mark will always be there.”
