Paper, Clay, Time and Patience
Here is a deck of cards with a game on either side. Game one is a series of scores for creating sound. Game two is meditative activities. The games are intended to focus the player's attention on the relationship between the mind, body and environment. In the example shown, I play game one using unfired clay objects. This choice was made to represent the fragility and ongoing practice of meditation, however, the game is open to readymades or any other objects the player decides. In a public space, the cards are accompanied by clay for the audience to make their own objects and a larger variety of finished objects for more people to play together. I want the experience to mimic group meditation and an orchestra playing a score together. A performative example is shown in the video provided. My thesis project, to be assessed for the jury.

“‘Breathe In Through Your Nose, Breathe Out Through a Trumpet’ is a Fluxus guide of meditative activities. The game is not the final piece but rather a tool to create the art piece, the art piece is the temporal experience one has while playing.”
