Fursuit Badge (Jacket)

Fabrication
2024
Canvas
Patch Jacket with personalized imprinted design and shoulder pads that acts as my fursuit badge.

“It was created by my need to have a fursuit badge, since it's one of the main identifier of the character. And since I wanted to do something bigger than small flat badge, I decided to go with Jacket. The blank jacket was purchased from second hand store. I chose canvas texture as it was easy to paint on using acrylic paint and easy to wash. I drafted a few designs before trace the one I chose onto the Jacket by tracing the screen using paper and black marker before I imprint the design onto the jacket using white marker. I fill in the colors with acrylic paint. I used my original character as the main design with some artistic interpretation heavily inspired by the cover of the book "I have no mouth and I must scream" and the vaporwave aesthetic. I chose purple and yellow as my main color scheme as I have strong attachment with my Thai highs school and its flag, Bangkok Christian College. I top it off with Traditional Thai tattoos from my home country, to protect me spiritually, bring me luck, and mental clarity, and also a reminder of home. After I finished the jacket, I screwed on shoulder pads scrapped from other athletic protection pads and iron on patches I have collected over the years through attending conventions. I also sewed on detachable jacket extension using the same material for aesthetic.”
