These are the posters for a song named Minimal by Role Model. The song is an anxious-ridden narrative of adolescence that discusses loneliness and the nation's common mental health crisis.'Let's keep it minimal.' This is the song's chorus, and it signifies that he (the singer) wants to wash away his sorrows, even if only for a little while. The song's core phrases include lethargy, loneliness, worry, simple, emptiness, awareness, and broken. I experimented with typography on three posters based on the different emotions he expresses through the song.Poster 1The letters are arranged at random, representing the song's uneasiness. And certain fuzzy typefaces are a hint of sluggishness and loneliness. There are some white spaces between the letters, which define the singer's emptiness. Furthermore, I arranged the ripped sheets diagonally, and they covered several letters. It's because, in the song, the singer sought to hide his past, which was full of worrisome and loneliness, and he wanted to keep those memories to a minimum, as the song choruses suggest. Finally, I chose red to emphasize the song's title and the singer's major message.Poster 2In this poster, the droopy letters are representing the torpor feeling of the song. And also, I added sub-lyrics in small sizes and then applied the blur effect in the backdrop to show anxiousness of the song.Poster 3According to the research, the singer of the song, Role Model, penned his lyrics in his apartment in the evening in his own room when he was feeling drowsy about his past. As a result, I expressed the buildings via lyrics. Furthermore, the low and high contrast letters resemble the windows of the buildings. Because I did not use all of the letters with the same opacity, the letters with low opacity depict the song's anxiousness and brokenness.
