In The Silence of Forever

Installation
2025
Votive candle stand, table, fabric, mourning veil, mirror, candles mixed with ashes of memories ( love letters, diaries, photocopies of pictures from my childhood, flowers, and uniform).
In the Silence of Forever is an intimate installation that reflects on the quiet space between prayer and response, where longing, regret, and faith intertwine. Through burning personal artifacts such as love letters, diaries, childhood photos I confront the fragility of memory and the weight of past mistakes, mixing their ashes into candles that flicker with both hope and sorrow. The silence that follows our deepest confessions becomes a haunting presence, a metaphor for divine distance and the loneliness of spiritual yearning. This work mourns who I once was while reaching toward the possibility of redemption through ritual, reflection, and the sacred stillness of waiting. In these remnants and rituals, I seek to make sense of what is lost, what remains, and what might still be heard in the silence.
