2025
The Ukrainian Exhibition Centre is a cultural space designed to preserve, explore, and present Ukrainian heritage through architecture and interior design. Located in Toronto, the project functions as a container of memory, blending traditional Ukrainian symbols, materials, and spatial logic with contemporary design language. It includes gallery zones, interactive installations, and areas for education and cultural events.
“This project emerged from a deeply personal and historical context. Having grown up in Ukraine, I witnessed how cultural awareness was often neglected or erased. The full-scale invasion in 2022 marked a turning point — revealing the scale of cultural colonization and deepening the urgency to preserve and reclaim Ukrainian identity.Through architecture and design, this project aims to participate in the process of decolonization by reintroducing traditional Ukrainian elements, forms, and meanings into modern space. It reflects on memory, symbolism, and national resilience. The Exhibition Centre becomes a platform not only for celebration of culture, but also for healing and rediscovery — a modern vessel that protects what was nearly lost.”
