INTRODUCATION. This urban project demonstrated the need for a natural restoration of marsh lands back onto the Mouth of the Humber River. My design solution has been to create a Humber River Commemoration Park where my goal was to recreate a “meeting space”. A sense of belonging where communities can come together in hopes to build a stronger relationship with site and place.CONCEPT. The Humber River Commemoration Park is intended to open up the landscape for recreational activities, foster closer community engagement, bring awareness to the river’s heritage and to help mitigate environmental causes such as flooding and stormwater run offs.
