H.O.M.E. (Hoarding Old Memory Eggs) is a process of deciphering my relationship with sentimental objects and how they manifest in my perception of belonging.

“‘H.O.M.E. (Hoarding Old Memory Eggs)’ is a computer-generated (CG) experimental animation that utilizes photogrammetry, 3D modelling, motion capture, fabricated textures, simulations, an arcing narrative, and an experimental soundtrack. This world is the location of memories attached to sentimental objects. This piece is a brief insight into SAL’s (Self Afflicted Loathing) world. The narration is SAL’s disembodied voice perceives the world and takes it upon themselves to explain SAL’s being, intentions, hopes and dreams.This piece is the process of deciphering my relationship with sentimental objects and how they manifest in my perception of belonging. Embedded in this animation are objects taken directly from my life that hold the significance of my being. These things hold joy, grief, identity, the love I have for people and the remanence of memories. I desire to keep, cherish and consume things that hold memories or symbolize my inner being. The personification of objects is a form of comfort because it is void of rejection. However, a world of materialism is lonely, and SAL’s world depicts it.The aesthetic of this world materializes empathy, loneliness, nostalgia and humour. Pleasure or humour might seem unlikely in SAL’s world, but it is necessary to acknowledge the joy that an object can bring. The foundational medium of photogrammetry acts as a pivot for the choices to include the simulated grass, my childhood drawings, 3D modelled elements and fabricated textures. Photogrammetry offers unpredictable distortions of an object while preserving its realistic texture. Empathy is elicited through the realism of the texture and recognizable simulacra that tie our reality with SAL’s world. The density of textures, distorted objects, grotesque sounds and the array of scenes create a vast space that feels like familiar loneliness. I hope nostalgia surfaces in the viewer upon encountering a recognizable object. ”
