Berlin Wall Souvenirs and Corporeal Simulacra

Essay
2019
An analysis of souvenir-fragments I encountered in Berlin in July 2019, during my exchange semester, through the lens of what I refer to as the "corporeal simulacrum." Reading time: 8–10 minutes. Written for VISD-3022 “Historiographies of Art” with Prof. Charles Reeve, Fall 2019. A condensed version of this essay was also published in the 2020 edition of the OCAD U Journal of Visual and Critical Studies (JVCS).
