ABACUS is a dual-sided learning management system that bridges the conversational gap between students and facilitators. It does this by inviting students to declare confidence and/or friction with course material in real time as lessons unfolds. Simultaneosly, facilitators are empowered to read the room via a systemic translation of student input into live classroom heatmaps, and anaylitical dashboards. How does it work?On the student side: A proprietary desk device lets learners continuously adjust a conflict/friction slider throughout the lesson. Still a bit stuck with fractions? Slide 3 pieces to the left. Absolutely crushing photosynthesis? All beads to the right! Private, immediate and honest. On the teacher side: A desktop dashboard aggregates this real-time feedback into dynamic heat maps and insights. See which concepts confuse the room. Identify which students need follow-up. Discover patterns across lessons.
“Learning has never been a one-way street. Conversational behaviour has always been at the foundation of the transactional systems we've built as a society. ABACUS bridges the gap by providing the feedback loop needed to make our transmission and reception of data as architecturally organic as they ought to be.”
