Madison Brook Schneider

Infused Light

Photography
For too long, we have treated nature as something to extract from rather than learn alongside.

“The slowness and materiality of analog photography demand intentionality in our accelerated world, yet the chemistry used to develop these images quietly contributes to the pollution of Earth’s water. These photos are developed using plant extracts that transform light-sensitive silver on the film’s surface into highlights, mid-tones, and shadows. This alternative process reimagines film development as a part of a living cycle.”
