The Descent Pavilion – Noong Lake, Vietnam

Situated on the forested slopes of Noong Lake in humid, mountainous northern Vietnam, this pavilion is conceived as a continuous, descending stream ramp that mirrors a natural watercourse. The pavilion culminates at its lowest point in a recessed seating platform where people are invited to remove their shoes and submerge their feet in cool, flowing water. Lightweight in construction, the pavilion rests on slender columns that tread lightly on the terrain, allowing vegetation and rainwater to pass freely below.More images in the PDF below.
