An environment of living plants and found objects such as moss, and a pregnant body made of homemade bioplastic
“Mother, Earth asks the question of equivalent exchanges in our relationship with the land that fosters us. A pregnant belly rests among live plants and moss, soon to be incorporated with the green life as it decomposes and allows the plants to flourish. As an artist that explores the connection between land and body, I created Mother, Earth to explore the relationship of giving and taking from the earth and an equitable relationship of giving and taking from our planet. An environment of living plants and found objects such as moss, and a pregnant body in bioplastic - mimics the natural environment in which we are created and born. The purpose of this piece is not to preserve its beauty at one stage, but to see decomposition as a necessary transformation for more beauty to thrive,”
