The Development Process

the work in progress

“I scanned my collages and worked with them digitally to create repeat patterns. Digital brush strokes lack the variation and unexpectedness of brush hair fibres. The colour is spread differently with each stroke on the paper, and digital brushes cannot replicate this.Toy wooden building blocks are among the most common examples of “loose parts.” These simple toys influenced the boxy shapes of my soft forms. Similarly, modular furniture relies on the same proportional qualities as toy blocks and bares many attributes of the “loose parts” theory.”
