Packaging Design
This was a packaging project where we were to take an existing common household item and re-design the package to revitalize the products look while maintaining common elements from the original packaging as to allow for some recognition from consumers. I chose to re-design the 12 pack of fine point black sharpie markers packaging. I started by cleaning up the sharpie wordmark by trying to limit the variation of thickness throughout the stroked, sharpening the end points and spacing the letters out a little more properly. I also played with the information hierarchy to allow the package to be more clear as to the type, count and colour of the markers within for better visual communication. Finally I added some simple renderings and illustrations of the markers for another level of communication of the contents and then rolled the concept out to a variety of different styles of sharpie markers.
