What you want to escape from might be the very thing you’re supposed to run toward. ‘Repressed Rhythm’ is about the inescapable cycles we desperately try to ‘escape’ like hamsters on a wheel. When running, watch what you trample and suffocate.

“8 figures present represent the eternal journey of suffering (8 = ∞) that we undergo, and naively try to escape. Not every figure wants to escape the cycle. Notice the directions of the feet: some pointed toward progressing, some toward regressing, some (the central figure) caught between coming and going. Trying to push one that is not ready to leave the cycle only results in more pain across the board. Some figures are covering their ears in an attempt to repress the sound of the eternal rhythm, but suffocating the sound of suffering does not stop it. Colours used mirror femininity and queerness (red, pink, orange, lesbian flag, warmth, complete absence of blue) desaturate as the piece progresses, as the figures assume that a desaturated life equates to less suffering. It doesn't, as they soon realize, as they progress through their eternal dance of living. ”
