Future Water is a collection of branding and advertisement to alert audiences about the ongoing dangers of mismanaged nuclear waste disposal. It presents a reality that may be upon us if we do not act and calls for action. On March 11, 2011, the Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant was hit by a tsunami and an earthquake resulting in three nuclear meltdowns and the release of radioactive contamination. To this day, the contaminated water made from the three units is stored in tanks on the ground. Due to a lack of storage space, the Japanese government plans to release over one million tonnes of contaminated water into the Pacific Ocean. The inflow of polluted water in the ocean can have a profound effect on marine ecosystems and possibly lead to human consumption, which can cause vomiting, hair loss, central nervous system damage, and cancer.
