The Ascent's Bridge Model

Scale: 1:200This bridge is 20m above ground level, crossing a body of water.The bridge structure is supported by slender charred wood columns, arranged in alternating X and Y configurations. Every 60 meters, one arm of the X-structure extends upward, piercing through the bridge deck to form an integrated light post. These locations are equipped with escape ladders running along the X-strut—well-lit by the overhead lamp and designed to serve as clear, visible markers for orientation. The principle is simple: where there is a light, there is an escape route.In addition to the X and Y columns, the bridge includes twin vertical columns placed rhythmically—every third light post is accompanied by a double column. These mark key rest nodes along the bridge, indicating the location of water fountains and benches for pedestrians.
