"Promise me, Know that we are not just bound by chain, but bound by love."The nautical star tattooed on the top of a woman's wrist in the 1940s symbolized her sexuality. During the day, lesbians could easily cover them up with watches, and be free to show them at night. Police kept the names of these women in their books.
