Anti-Monopoly: Breaking the System is a Twine-based critical game modification that reframes Monopoly as an interactive narrative about ownership, debt, inequality, and system pressure. Through branching choices and consequences, the project turns a familiar board-game structure into a playable critique of economic systems and limited agency.

“This work uses game design as a form of argument. By adapting the familiar logic of Monopoly into a branching narrative, the project asks players to think critically about systems of ownership, scarcity, and pressure. It explores how interaction, consequence, and feedback can make social critique more immediate than explanation alone.”
