An exploration of watercolour and gouache on paper, to find a method of working with the different medium that would best translate how I previously worked in oils.
“Typically, I would create looser, more transparent backgrounds thinned significantly with mineral spirits while rendering the foreground in a denser, more opaque oil paint. This experimental process is ongoing as both the COVID-19 pandemic and associated regional lockdowns keep me from accessing ventilated studio space.
