Watercolour on paper
4x6"
An exploration of watercolour and gouache on paper, to find a method of working with the different medium that would best translate how I previously worked in oils.

“Typically, I would create looser, more transparent backgrounds thinned significantly with mineral spirits while rendering the foreground in a denser, more opaque oil paint. This experimental process is ongoing as both the COVID-19 pandemic and associated regional lockdowns keep me from accessing ventilated studio space. More small watercolour and gouache works on paper or board can be found in the Handhelds collection on ePortfolio.”
