“Based on ruminations of internal conflict from a struggle to authentically connect to the displaced cultural and religious values that anchor my family to its notions of home, I physically negotiate the disparities that don't seem to allow me to internalize them fully. Visualizing the boundary between present and past through my discomfort and shame, I contemplate the weight of prayer, and the stitching that strings me to my family, and to my personal history overseas.”
