RUN THE JEWELS 1-3

Physical recreation of the rap group Run The Jewels album art from their first 3 albums.
“For this piece, I drew inspiration from one of my favorite rap groups, Run The Jewels. Their album art is striking in its simplicity and power, typically depicting two hands—one in the shape of a gun, the other holding a chain. This imagery symbolizes a stick-up, capturing themes of resistance and confrontation. As El-P, one of the group's members, explained, “I wanted to do the hand sign because I wanted something powerful and elemental and non-pretentious. It just made it really easy to communicate.” The hand sign appears on the cover of each of their albums and has become a defining visual symbol of their identity.”
