Entanglement dress (3/3)

2026
Water-soluble stabilizers, waste threads, Lycra fabric
48 x 22 inches
This is the third and final dress I created for a collection for my Thesis project: Within The Sea. This dress represents the entanglement of marine animals with textile waste found floating in the ocean. Large and small aquatic animals alike are at risk of getting tangled with fabric waste. Entanglement with textile waste pose fatal risks of suffocation and drowning. This dress represents a fish body being tangled and wrapped up in textile waste, depicting no clear way of getting untangled.
