A painting inspired by George Fredrick Watts ‘Choosing’. Your sense of smell and nostalgia are closely correlated, and in Watts's painting, a girl is depicted smelling an odourless flower. Research has shown that early signs of nose-blindness may result in memory loss diseases such as Alzheimer’s. Hence sunflowers are odourless contrasting to the scented lilacs surrounding the figure.
